Fire in Nuristan Burns 200 Acres of Land into Ashes, No Effective Action Taken by Taliban

Local sources in Nuristan province have reported that for the last twelve days, the forests in this province are burning into the fire, as a result of which more than two hundred acres of forests have been burned down into ashes.

According to the residents, fires have been raging in the forests of Nurgram district of the province for the past twelve days.

“So far, we have used the basic facilities to tackle the fire, but it has not been effective,” a resident, told Hasht-e Subh.

According to residents, although the Taliban have said they have sent firefighters to the scene, no firefighters have arrived so far.

“We tackled the fire in the forests, but a small range has remained,” a Taliban member, told media outlets.

Nuristan is a mountainous province with natural forests in the east of Afghanistan.
